The high rises of tomorrow are ‘plyscrapers’

Smithsonian Magazine mentioned UBC’s new student residence Brock Commons for an article on the emergence of wood towers.

The record-setting 18-storey structure is mostly made up of CLT, a material invented in 1990s that plasters together alternating layers of imperfect wood and forms thick beams.
