Fitness apps require personalization

A UBC Okanagan study on the factors that contribute to people using fitness apps was featured on Tech Vibes.

Study author Mary Jung, a professor at UBC Okanagan’s School of Health and Exercise Sciences, found that people with access to personalized information in an app used it for the duration of the study and exercised more.

“More than ever before, mobile apps provide an opportunity to provide real-time feedback and support to the public and specialized health populations,” said Jung. “In order for app users to reach their full potential, we need to ensure that they stay engaged and are provided with the best support.”
