UBCO campus excluded from UBC rape kit program

Kelowna Now reported that UBC’s Okanagan campus does not have sexual assault evidence collection kits, or rape kits, located on campus as is the case at the university’s Vancouver campus.

Leslie Dickson, associate director of UBC Public Affairs, said the kits are available at the hospital located on UBC’s Vancouver campus, meaning the decision lies with Vancouver Coastal Health.

A spokesperson for Interior Health said they were not aware of what UBCO will be offering to students regarding services in Kelowna.
