Firm accused of publishing junk science takes over Canadian journals

William Jia, a professor at UBC’s Brain Research Centre, spoke to CTV after OMICS, an offshore publishing company was accused of disseminating junk science took over publishing several respected Canadian medical journals.

Jia said he agreed to be an editor at the surgery journal Surgery: Current Research but did not end up doing any work for OMICS.

If there is an issue with the peer-review process at OMICS, Jia said he would like to remove his name from the editorial board.
