Why Trump slowly unraveled during debate

Eric Merkley, a PhD candidate in UBC’s department of political science, was interviewed on Breakfast Television about the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

Merkley explained why Trump seemed to have lost the debate.

“He started off pretty reasonable, he was rather presidential when he talked about trade, even if it was economically illiterate, but that slowly unraveled as they started needling him on his person failings, his business and then he lost his cool and he needed to not do that,” he said.
