B.C. economist says Vancouver house prices will keep climbing

The Vancouver Sun spoke to Paul Kershaw, a professor at UBC’s School of Population and Public Health, and Thomas Davidoff, a UBC economist, for a story on continuously climbing housing prices in Metro Vancouver.

“High house prices are crushing the young demographic’s dreams in this province,” Kershaw said.

Davidoff said B.C. should tell municipalities how many residences they need, so municipalities can set “targets” and tell developers what to build.

“Over time, this challenge isn’t going to go away, it’s going to be exacerbated,” he said.

The story also appeared in The Province.
