The Vancouver Sun reported on a “pickup artist” who drew criticism from students and the attention of campus security when he visited UBC campus.
The man is a founder of a Vancouver dating firm which posted a video last year in which he approaches women at UBC and uses pickup techniques he teaches in a “dating boot camp.”
Barry Eccleton, UBC’s director of campus security, said his department is aware of a man who describes himself as a “pickup artist” on campus Wednesday.
“While this individual’s actions are distasteful, we are not aware of any criminality,” Eccleton said in a statement.
