The Toronto Star interviewed Gary Johns, a professor at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, for a story on the pressure to work when you’re sick.

“We know that people, under certain circumstances, might think we’re troopers if we show up at work despite the fact that we have an acute or chronic illness,” Johns said. “You’re seen as a good organizational citizen if you go the extra mile.”
