Health Canada approves cannabis PTSD study

Health Canada has approved a clinical trial to see if marijuana really works for PTSD, reports CHEK News.

Nanaimo-based medical marijuana producer Tilray and UBC will provide vaporizers to 42 participants. Half are police or military veterans and half are individuals who have suffered sexual or other violence.

“We know that a lot of veterans are using cannabis to deal with their symptoms but the research hasn’t been there for us to get a sense of how it works, who it works best for and are there differences between different types of cannabis that makes some types more effective than others?” said UBC psychology professor Zach Walsh.
