Professor creates sustainable balsa wood pull buoy

Popular swimming website SwimSwam featured a balsa wood pull buoy designed by UBC forestry professor and masters swimmer Phil Evans. Evans says the buoy is more durable and tactile compared to typical pull buoys made of EVA foam, a petroleum product. Evans has been using the buoy for 18 months.
