Facebook removes photos of topless women marching in parade

CBC reported on Facebook’s removal of photos of topless women marching in a Go Topless parade. Critics said the move was discriminatory.

Alfred Hermida, a UBC professor of social media and journalism, said there is tension between the social network’s enforcement of its rules and the laws that apply in individual countries. While B.C. recognizes a women’s right to go topless, other countries do not.
