Vancouver region home sales continue to slide

The Globe and Mail interviewed Thomas Davidoff, a UBC economics professor, for a story on dropping home sales following the foreign-buyers tax.

Sales of single-family homes in the first two weeks of August declined by 66 per cent and the number of apartments and condos sold dropped 42 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Davidoff said it is impossible to determine if the data prove that the B.C. government correctly assessed the level of foreign investment in Vancouver real estate.
