Toronto’s first PokeMaster drops 25 lbs in gaming blitz

CTV News cited an interview with Amori Mikami, a UBC psychology professor, for a story on a man claiming to be Canada’s first PokeMaster.

Mikami said the Pokemon Go game could provide significant mental health benefits for people suffering from depression or social anxiety.

Mikami also spoke to Vancouver Courier on the same topic.

“Some people think only really deep, long-lasting and intimate types of social interactions are positive and helpful. But research shows that even superficial or lighter interactions boost mood and have positive effects on well-being,” she said.
