Judge Marion Buller takes on Missing Murdered Women Inquiry

Shelly Johnson, a UBC social work professor, spoke to CBC after B.C. Provincial Court Judge Marion Buller was named chief commissioner of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Johnson has worked with Buller for a research project to review the First Nations court.

“I understand just from watching her over the last four years, she’s going to bring the principal of respect for families, reciprocity and responsibility that we all have, to change the way that Indigenous women and girls have been treated in this country,” she said.

The Vancouver Sun also interviewed Johnson on the same topic.
