Medical marijuana: Does research back up claims of benefits?

The Globe and Mail interviewed UBC medicine professor M-J Milloy for a story on the use of medical cannabis.

There are no large high-quality scientific studies that prove cannabis lessens pain, combats chemotherapy symptoms or reduces anxiety.

“We need to see if, in fact, it’s legitimate by the standards of medical science,” Milloy said.

The Globe and Mail also interviewed botany professor Jon Page for a story on medical marijuana dispensaries.
