Water resilience that flows

Science Daily highlighted UBC research on an affordable way to monitor rivers and stream flow using open source products.

Silja Hund, a PhD candidate in the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences, studies the occurrence and behaviour of water, specifically rivers and streams.

“Open-source technologies are important for advancing hydrologic research,” Hund said. “By sharing not only the results, but also the tools, researchers can contribute significantly to advancing reproducibility of their research, sharing knowledge and experience, and contributing to and benefiting from the exchange within the open-source community.”
