Why Montreal households are the greenest in Canada

Vice included UBC research for a story on how homes in Montreal are the most sustainable in the country.

Food and resource economic researchers looked at census data over 12 years and ranked 17 major metropolitan areas according to how much carbon dioxide the average family produced in a year.

Family households in Montreal produced five tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions on average, per year, compared to homes in Vancouver, which emitted 7.2 tonnes per year, and Edmonton, at 20 tonnes per year.
