The National Post quoted UBC economist Joshua Gottlieb for an article on the 15 per cent property transfer tax announced this week by the B.C. government.
Gottlieb doesn’t think the new measures will have a strong impact on Vancouver real estate prices, or on vacancy rates. He called the transfer tax “discriminatory,” and he wonders how Vancouver will look for vacant homes it can tax.
