UBC president Santa Ono was named a recipient of the 2016 National Association of Asian American Professionals award, the Vancouver Sun reported.
The NAAAP 100 Award is the organization’s highest honour presented annually to the most influential Asian leaders who made substantial contributions in their field.
According to the NAAAP Ono is recognized as one of the most respected leaders in higher education and “a visible, outspoken advocate for social progress.”
