Terroir trouble: B.C. vineyards harm soil quality

The Vancouver Sun reported on a UBCO study by Miranda Hart, professor of biology, and biology PhD candidate Taylor Holland.

“Soil biodiversity may be an important part of terroir, which is everything to a grape grower,” Hart said

Findings showed the underground processes influence vine growth and fruit development as well as the taste and flavour of the resulting wine.
