The Vancouver Sun quoted UBC civil engineering professor Alex Bigazzi for an article on the return of the road trip.
He said, for now, the short-term rebound in the amount that Americans are driving has sparked a debate over how evolving habits will impact longer-term trends.
“I think the debate is how much these are generational and attitudinal shifts,” Bigazzi said. “People talk a lot about how millennials are different from baby boomers in terms of their perceptions of driving and the value they attach to vehicle ownership.”
