B.C.’s citizenship reporting requirement still has loopholes

The Vancouver Sun quoted UBC business professor Tom Davidoff for a story on loopholes in citizenship reporting after the B.C. government released a report showing that five per cent of purchases in Metro Vancouver in the first three weeks of June were made by non-residents.

“We’ve heard anecdotally that people do want to hide their identities, and there are plenty of ways to do it,” said Davidoff.

Corporate purchases, and purchases in trust are some of the possible loopholes.
