AMS security cutbacks prompt fears of more sex assaults

CTV News reported on the Alma Mater Society’s cutbacks of security guards at UBC’s Student Nest building which is operated and staffed by the student society.

The Nest will be without foot patrol inside the building as of Aug. 1 and RCMP or campus security will be called to investigate any reported issues.

The Alma Mater Society says the move will free up $300,000 for other student services.
