The enduring enigma of female sexual desire

BBC News quoted Lori Brotto, a UBC professor of obstetrics and gynaecology, for a story on sexual desire comparisons between men and women.

Scientists have found that the amount of desire experienced in the midst of a sexual interaction is equal for both sexes.

“This challenges our gender-related stereotypes about women being passive and not sexual,” Brotto said. “It also suggests that the factors that elicit desire in the moment might be equally as potent for men as for women.”
