UBC educational policy expert Charles Ungerleider commented on a Fraser Institute report that said most independent schools in B.C. aren’t enclaves for the elite – they simply have a religious or alternative teaching approach.
Arguing that independent schools are diverse ignores the question of whether or not public tax money should subsidize the education of private school students, Ungerleider told CBC.
