The Toronto Star included UBC research from the school of population and public health for an article on substance abuse support for LGBT youth.
After surveying 22,000 Canadians, researchers found that gay, lesbian and bisexual respondents reported twice the rates of anxiety and mood disorders and that cohort was also at higher risk of heavy drinking.
