Vaccine will spell the end of cervical cancer

A story in the Vancouver Sun on the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine featured an interview with Dr. Gina Ogilvie, a UBC professor and research chair in global control of HPV-related diseases and cancers.

She said there is undisputable evidence that the HPV vaccine is safe and prevents cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. In B.C. the vaccine is given free to girls in Grade Six.

The story also appeared in The Province and Calgary Herald.
