University of Cincinnati president leaves for Canadian post

The Vancouver-born president of the University of Cincinnati has been named to a similar post at UBC, report the Daily Mail and other outlets.

Under his leadership, UC saw its largest ever enrolment and was named Public University of the Year by the Washington Center.

Ono is the son of a Japanese-born math professor who taught at UBC in the 1960s. He has a biology degree from the University of Chicago and a PhD in experimental medicine from McGill University.
