Experts reveal the risks for children who don’t get enough sleep

The Globe and Mail featured new sleep guidelines for children recommended by a panel of experts, including UBC sleep specialist and nursing professor Wendy Hall.

Teenagers should get at least eight hours of sleep a day, while infants should have as much as 16 hours, according to the experts.

Hall, the only Canadian on the 13-member panel, said the information is crucial because research is growing that shows lack of sleep has negative health impacts.

Similar stories appeared on CBC, and Yahoo News Canada. Hall also spoke to Fairchild TV, City TV, and CBC’s On The Coast.
