The Globe and Mail published an op-ed on ransomware by former UBC political science Master’s student Ashley Dawson.
Ransomware is a form of malware that blocks computer access through encryption of files.
“The best response is prevention. Back up your files in a secondary location, use spam blockers on your e-mail and don’t open attachments from people you don’t know,” Dawson wrote.
