Scientists find first gene mutation for MS

The Finland Times reported on research by UBC and Vancouver Coastal Health scientists proving a genetic link to multiple sclerosis that could allow doctors to identify and treat the disease before symptoms show up. 

“This finding is critical for our understanding of MS,” said Carles Vilarino-Guell, assistant professor in UBC’s department of medical genetics and one of the study’s senior authors.
