Medical experts request Olympics move

UBC professor Judy Illes is one of 150 medical experts who have signed an open letter requesting that the 2016 Olympics be moved from Rio because of the risk of Zika virus. She discussed the issue with the BBC.

“We are putting the athletes in a … bind because they now have to decide whether to compete. Many of them have been training for an entire lifetime to compete in an Olympics event when in fact there is an advisory against going to the country where the Olympics are being held,” said Illes.
