The emerging field of epigenetics will be tackled at a UBC workshop from April 27 to 29, CBC reported.
Epigenetics studies chemical reactions that regulate a person’s genes, and the environmental and other factors that influence them.
“Having the knowledge empowers us to make decisions, to work with our policymakers, to influence our policymakers to perhaps create conditions in which our children get the best and most healthy start to life,” said Michael Kobor, a professor of medical genetics at UBC.
