Starting at college a smart move for B.C. students

A Vancouver Sun article on the advantages of starting at college for transfer students mentioned UBC.

“If you do a year of transfer and you choose your courses correctly, you will graduate with the same degree in the same amount of time without having wasted your tuition dollars or without having wasted your time and all of our studies show that the outcomes are the same, so it is a great way to go,” said Andrew Arida, UBC’s director of undergraduate admissions.

“About one-third of UBC’s new student seats are for upper year transfer students, which is quite a lot for a university our size,” said Arida.
