Wildfire season has started in B.C., reports CBC News, with dozens of fires already burning in the Interior.
“We’re coming off of an El Nino winter where there was not a lot of snow in most of the Interior of the province,” said UBC forestry professor Lori Daniels. “We’re seeing already evidence that our forests and our grasslands and our woodlands are already dry and primed for fire.”
