Vancouver cannon continues its nightly fire

A Los Angeles Times feature highlights a 19th century cannon located in Stanley Park and the tradition of firing it nightly at 9 o’clock.

The cannon has been stolen, vandalized, and even hit by lightning over the years. At one time the gun was stolen (and returned) by UBC engineering students. Eight years ago, another group of UBC students painted the gun red.
