Hydromorphone, an opioid painkiller, may be another treatment option for heroin addiction, finds a new Canadian study.
“Providing injectable opioids in specialized clinics under supervision ensures safety of both the patients and the community, and the provision of comprehensive care,” said lead investigator Eugenia Oviedo-Joekes, from UBC.
