Man attempts to break into UBC residence lounge

A man attempted to break into a UBC residence lounge where a female resident was studying, media outlets reported over the weekend.

The incident happened early Friday morning and UBC sent a warning email the same day to the 9,500 students who live in campus residences.

“We are doing everything that we can, and are working with the RCMP, to ensure that this individual or these individuals are caught and, from my perspective, appropriately punished,” said managing director of student housing and hospitality services Andrew Parr.

The story was reported on CBC News, CTV News, Global News, News 1130, CKNW, Castanet and other publications.
