UBC plans to select new president by June

UBC is on track to select a new president by June, Philip Steenkamp, vice-president of external relations told the Globe and Mail.

The search committee is meeting in the second week of April to produce a short list out of a long list of 16 candidates, said Steenkamp.

The article also highlighted the vote of non-confidence in the UBC board passed by UBC’s faculty association this week.

According to Steenkamp, the board will meet with representatives of the faculty association, and with other student, employee and alumni groups on April 14 to discuss issues that have been raised.
