UBC’s faculty association passed a non-confidence motion against the school’s board of governors, according to the Globe and Mail and other media outlets.
The vote is largely symbolic but is seen as part of ongoing tensions at UBC stemming from the surprise resignation of president Arvind Gupta last summer.
The association’s president, Mark Mac Lean said they will present to the board “suggestions for changes that we hope will help restore faculty confidence in the board.”
