Girls see kindness better

Girls notice acts of kindness more than boys, new research from UBC’s Okanagan campus shows.

Education professor John-Tyler Binfet surveyed more than 1,700 students between grades 4 and 8.

“Students’ perception of the amount of kindness present in schools is an important indicator of school culture,” said Binfet. “Students’ perception of kindness could be an important indication of the extent to which a school promotes empathy, student development and learning.”
