Increased density OK, just not near me

A UBC Okanagan study shows that residents in Kelowna support increased density as long as it doesn’t happen in their backyards, reports the Kelowna Daily Courier.

“Residents in Kelowna showed little willingness to accept residential densification on their streets, but appear more willing to accept it elsewhere in the city when we told them that living in more dense areas reduces the greenhouse gas emissions of our city,” said study author and economics professor Ross Hickey.
