UBC health policy researcher Steve Morgan is quoted in a Toronto Star article on the business side of pharmacies. Morgan suggested that pharmacists can do more than just fill up a prescription–they can also provide expert advice. Peter Loewen, director of the doctor of pharmacy program at UBC, noted that pharmacists can bill for things like adapting a prescription or stopping a medication, but there’s been less incentive to do so.
