The Governor General of Canada is meeting with Aboriginal artists involved in a joint UBC-Emily Carr project today.
David Johnston and his wife Sharon will meet participants of Opening Doors, a program that sees Aboriginal artists receive mentorship and training to produce a hand carved door that’s then replicated with wood-cutting technology. The program is led by UBC forestry professor Chris Gaston and Emily Carr’s Brenda Crabtree.
