Legislate B.C. care home staffing, advocates demand

Advocates are calling for legislation to require better staffing for care homes, according to the Vancouver Sun.

Margaret McGregor, director of primary care and geriatrics with UBC’s family practice department, was quoted in the article.

U.S. research shows the ideal is for long term facilities to provide 4.1 hours direct care per resident per day, said McGregor. Fewer hours can result in health issues for seniors.
