The makers of Cold-FX sat for years on a study that showed the popular cold remedy did virtually nothing to treat cold and flu symptoms, media outlets reported earlier this week.
James McCormack, a professor of pharmaceutical sciences at UBC, spoke to CBC’s As It Happens on the issue.
“Anybody who looks at the evidence…will come to the same conclusion…that [Cold-FX] does virtually nothing,” said McCormack. “Fortunately it doesn’t do any harm either. But it doesn’t really do anything.”
