Research published last year by a UBC PhD student, Gloria Puurveen, showed that temporary exposure to camera monitoring can lead caregivers to provide “less organic” care. The research examined the ethics of recording nursing home residents with dementia.
The study was mentioned in a Pacific Standard article highlighting growing use of electronic recording equipment in nursing homes.
