The case for testing drugs on pregnant women

UBC medical geneticist Jan Friedman is quoted in a Philly.com article examining the issue of testing drugs on pregnant women.

Scientists know very little about drug safety during pregnancy, Friedman said. “There’s still many, many drugs, including many relatively frequently used drugs, that we don’t know very much about. There’s not a lot of funding for this kind of research and not a lot of work that’s being done.”
