Same-sex couples in Canada feeling pressure to tie the knot

A recent UBC study found that gay couples started feeling more pressure to tie the knot when gay marriage became legal in Canada more than 10 years ago, reports the Vancouver Sun.

“For our participants, it was literally an overnight force that started up, and one that required them to renegotiate their identity and some of the goals of their relationships,” said co-author and UBC PhD candidate Katherine Lyon.
