Event: UBC will award degrees to 8,500 graduating students and five honorary degree recipients at the Vancouver campus’ Spring Congregation, May 20-22 and May 25-27, 2015.
Highlights: Degrees will be conferred at 24 ceremonies. Recipients of honorary degrees will include a former UBC president; a 95-year-old woman lawyer; a celebrated Hollywood screenwriter and producer; a champion of folk and traditional music and a prominent art dealer.

Honorary degree recipients
May 20
8:30 a.m. – At 95 years of age, Constance Isherwood, QC, is the most senior practicing woman lawyer of the Bar in B.C.
1:30 p.m. – Gary Cristall is the co-founder of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival and a champion of folk, traditional and world music.
4:00 p.m. – Acclaimed Hollywood screenwriter and producer Hart Hanson is the creator of some of television’s most successful shows.
May 22
8:30 a.m. – Uno Langmann is a leader in the fields of professional antiques and fine arts who has donated many valuable works to public galleries and institutions, including UBC.
May 27
11: a.m. – Stephen J. Toope is an internationally recognized legal scholar and educator who served as UBC president from 2006 to 2014.
